Mayor’s Update: May Council Meeting

Texas Local Government Code §22.006 states that newly elected officials for a Type A-General Law City may qualify and assume duties of office after the 5th day after the election not counting Sundays. The resulting day is the 6th day after. Officials may not take office until the canvass is complete unless the election was canceled. The earliest the newly elected officials can take office would be on Friday, May 12, but having a Friday night meeting can be difficult. Therefore, the City of Blanco May meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 6 p.m.
